Products for Display Screen Defect Inspection Applications
2026-04-21
In the display panel industry, a single screen undergoes hundreds of processes from glass substrate to finished module.
Bright spots, dark spots, crushed bright dots, Mura (uneven brightness), dark lines, foreign matter, scratches, air bubbles, corner chipping... Any tiny defect will be regarded as a defective product by consumers, directly causing overall product returns and irreversible damage to brand reputation.
With the popularization of new display technologies such as OLED, Mini LED and Micro LED, screen resolution continues to rise, and pixel density often exceeds 400 PPI. Traditional manual visual inspection has become completely ineffective:
- The human eye fatigues within minutes under strong light, making Mura defects nearly undetectable.
- 4K/8K screens contain tens of millions of pixels, resulting in extremely low coverage of manual sampling inspection.
- Customers require zero-defect shipment, and failure to comply will lead to lost orders.
- A single return and compensation claim can cost as much as several inspection devices.
From Cell-level lighting tests and module appearance inspection to OLED pixel-level repair, mature machine vision and optical inspection solutions are already available to realize full-screen inspection + intelligent grading.
In this article, we introduce three core products for screen defect inspection, and explore how production lines can upgrade from "manual sampling inspection" to "AI full inspection".
