As standards for landscape lighting continue to rise, people are no longer satisfied with simply “being able to see”; instead, they seek lighting effects that are more uniform, comfortable, and rich in depth.
Among these, low-level lighting—an essential component of landscape lighting—is widely used in settings such as courtyards, park walkways, community landscapes, and commercial plazas.
What is low-level lighting?
Low-level lighting refers to lighting fixtures installed at a low height that, through precise optical control, effectively project light onto the ground or landscape areas to achieve guiding, decorative, and functional lighting effects.
Compared to high-mast lighting, low-level lighting is closer to the human line of sight, and therefore places higher demands on light uniformity, illumination distance, and glare control.

However, conventional garden lights currently available on the market generally have two major drawbacks when used for ground-level lighting:

Why don't traditional garden lights shine very far?
Most traditional lenses use a symmetrical light distribution design.
When luminaires are installed at a low height, a large amount of light is concentrated around the perimeter of the luminaire, resulting in excessive brightness in the near field and a rapid decline in illuminance in the far field.
The result is that areas farther away appear dim, and the ground brightness is uneven.
To ensure adequate lighting, more luminaires must be installed.
This not only increases project costs but also makes future maintenance more difficult.
